According to Article 154 of the Constitution, The executive power of the State shall be vested in the Governor and shall be exercised by him either directly or through officers subordinates to him in accordance with the Constitution of India. According to Article 155 of the Constitution, the Governor of a State shall be appointed by the President. According to Article 157 of the Constitution, a person to be eligible for appointment as Governor should be citizen of India and has completed age of 35 years. According to Article 156 (1) of the Constitution, the Governor shall hold office during the pleasure of the President. The grounds of removal of Governor of a State are nowhere laid down in the Constitution, as he holds office during the pleasure of the President.
