Both (A) and (R) are true but (R) is not the correct explanation of (A).. Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious disease caused by a bacterium called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The bacteria usually attack the lungs, but TB bacteria can attack any part of the body such as the kidney, intestine, spine and brain. TB bacteria are spread through the air from one person to another. The TB bacteria are put into the air when a person with TB disease coughs, sneezes, talks, laughs or kisses; they release tiny droplets that contain the germs. Every year about 5 lakhs of Indians die because of this fatal disease. On March 24, 1882, Dr. Robert Koch announced the discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria that causes tuberculosis (TB). Tuberculosis (TB) is known as white plague. TB can be fatal in many cases. So, both (A) and (R) are true but (R) is not the correct explanation of (A).
